Huntersville, NC - There could finally be a permanent solution for cellulite and it's available right here in the Charlotte area.

The Cellulaze laser has just been approved by the FDA.

The method uses a small laser to shrink bulges in the skin and to loosen dimples in the tissue.

More than a dozen Charlotte area women helped in clinical trials at the Hunstad Kortesis Center in Huntersville.

It's one of a select few plastic surgery offices to offer the technology.


The Cellulaze laser is the first FDA approved surgical treatment for cellulite. Lyposuction removes fat, but doesn't impact the appearance of skin. The patients in this study only had one treatment and so far the results are permanent.

Dr. Joseph Hunsted says, “You can come in have the cellulite treatment, drive home and basically have a normal life the next day."
