Dr. Augenstein’s personal mission is straightforward, simple and focused around patient care. He believes in exploring each patient’s goals for surgery, tailoring a surgical plan to the individual patient and taking the time to explain the plan thoroughly. This vision is present in every surgery, every time, and his undivided attention is extended to every patient, day or night.

This devotion to patient satisfaction and excellent results has earned him accolades from both patients under his care and from doctors that have enjoyed working with him professionally.

Since he was a teenager, Dr. Augustein has been fascinated by surgery, and was very interested early on in facial reconstruction. He earned his Bachelors of Science in Biology from the University of Kentucky and his medical degree at the University of Louisville School of Medicine, graduating summa cum laude from both. While in Louisville, KY, Dr. Augenstein completed a residency in both Ear, Nose and Throat Surgery and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

Dr. Augenstein’s special interests include facial rejuvenation, facelifts, neck lifts, eyelid surgery and rhinoplasty. He is also skilled in skin treatments, including chemical and laser resurfacing. He performs breast augmentation, breast cancer reconstruction, full body contouring and skin cancer reconstruction.

Dr. Augenstein lives in Charlotte with his wife, Vedra Augenstein, MD, a general surgeon and their son. When not spending time with his family, he enjoys snow skiing, fishing and golfing.
