If
excess glandular tissue is the primary cause of male breast enlargement, it
can be excised, or removed. The excision may be performed
alone or in conjunction with liposuction. In a typical procedure, an
incision is made in an inconspicuous location, either on the edge of the
areola, the darkened skin around the nipple, or in the underarm area. Working through the incision, the surgeon
cuts away the excess glandular tissue, fat, and skin from around the areola
and from the sides and bottom of the breast. Major reductions that involve
the removal of a significant amount of tissue and skin may require larger
incisions, which may result in more conspicuous scars. If liposuction is
used to remove excess fat, the cannula is usually inserted through the
existing incisions.
Dr. Kortesis
talks about: Gynecomastia
If your Gynecomastia consists primarily of excessive fatty tissue, your
surgeon will likely use liposuction to remove the excess fat. A small
incision, less than a half-inch in length, is made around the edge of the
areola, the dark skin that surrounds the nipple. Or, the incision may be
placed in the underarm area. A slim hollow tube called a cannula,
attached to a vacuum pump, is then inserted into the incision. Using
strong, deliberate strokes, the surgeon moves the cannula through the layers
beneath the skin, breaking up the fat and suctioning it out. Patients may
feel a vibration or some friction during the process, but generally no
pain. In extreme cases where large amounts of fat or glandular tissue have
been removed, skin may not adjust well to the new smaller breast contour.
In these cases, excess skin may have to be removed to allow the remaining
skin to firmly re-adjust to the new breast contour.

Abdominal
Liposculpture with Etching
Abdominal liposuction with etching
is a fantastic improvement to enhance form, shape, and physique
for men. This procedure is also known as differential liposuction.
It can literally achieve a six-pack configuration to the abdomen.
The entire abdomen is suctioned while the outline of the abdominal muscles is enhanced, revealing the shape and configuration
of the abdominal wall. Liposuction is also continued to the back to
remedy the love handles. Depending on a patients desire, this can be
subtle or very sharp. This surgical procedure is usually
accomplished within two hours. Most patients can return to normal
activities within one or two weeks following the procedure. The
final resolution of swelling takes up to three months, however the
results are visible within two weeks. This procedure has given many
of our patients tremendous satisfaction and excitement. For those
who work out and continue to struggle with abdominal fullness and the inability to
show all their hard work, abdominal etching is often the answer.
Drawings depicting natural muscle outlines will be followed
with the liposuction cannula to accent the abdominal
muscles. Liposuction is continued into the love handles to
create a natural contour circumferentially.

Pectoralis
augmentation
Pectoralis augmentation for men can
achieve a fantastic upper torso contour and profile, enhancing one's physique.
Implants are placed through a natural armpit crease incision that heals almost
inconspicuously. These implants are made of semi-soft
solid silicone and have the feel of a well-developed muscle. The
implants are are shaped to naturally contour the chest wall and pectoralis muscle. They can achieve the strongly developed
and athletic shape many men desire. This surgery is completed in
usually less than one hour. Implant size and shape is selected with
guidance preoperatively during consultation with Dr. Hunstad. The
incision is closed with sutures that dissolve leaving the best scar.
The chest is wrapped with elastic bandages for a short time
following surgery. Men can shower the very next day after this
procedure. The result is seen immediately and normal activity can be
resumed within a few weeks.
