	Meena Patel RN, BSN Clinical Specialist/Marketing Coordinator Meena Patel currently serves as a Clinical Specialist and Marketing Coordinator. Having been at the practice for 12 years, Meena brings extensive experience and a high level of acumen to her current position. Some of her responsibilities include coordinating clinical studies, overseeing marketing efforts, delivering patient care and clinical decision-making. After graduating from Indiana University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing, Meena pursued additional training and obtained the following certifications: Mesotherapy Certification Advanced Certified Nurse Injector Certified in Candela Laser Use Certified in Gas Sterilization Certified Smartlipo User Meena is also a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgical Nurses. Her professionalism and class provide each client with an exceptional experience. What Meena likes about her job is the autonomy it provides. She also finds pleasure in interacting with the patients she serves. The satisfaction of facilitating the physical transformation and improving a patient’s self-esteem is what she finds most fulfilling.
	Melissa Eirls, RN Surgical Nurse/Nurse Injector Melissa currently serves as a clinical nurse for The Hunstad Center as well as injector of dermal fillers and botox. With over 10 years of acute care post-surgical experience, Melissa brings an advanced knowledge of patient care to the practice. She has been at The Hunstad Kortesis Center since 2007. She previously traveled across the country for 6 years and worked in hospitals with nursing shortages. When asked, Melissa states the most rewarding part of her job is seeing patients smile and being there for them every step of the way throughout their journey. 	Casey Darling, CST Certified Surgical Technologist Clinical Assistant Casey is our Lead Certified Surgical Technologist as well as a Clinical Assistant and is responsible for providing surgical and clinical assistance to the physicians and maintaining surgical and clinical protocol and inventory. She has been at The Hunstad Kortesis Center since 2005. In addition to assisting the doctors, she manages the web site content by ensuring information is current and accurate. She has been with the practice for six years and has a deep understanding of the importance of team work and self-discipline. Casey loves to laugh which brings smiles to the faces of her colleagues. In addition to sharing a hearty laugh, she appreciates seeing the step-by-step transformations of the patients and putting smiles on their faces.
	Michelle Cox, MOA, ST Clinical Assistant Michelle has been a member of our Clinical Staff since 2010. Her responsibilities include assisting with surgical consultations, as well as post-operative and follow-up visits. She has over 12 years of experience in the medical field, beginning in the Operating Room as a Surgical Technologist, and most recently in the areas of dermatology and plastic surgery. Michelle brings not only her knowledge of direct patient care, but a sincere affection and appreciation for each patient that she comes in contact with. Being a part of the genuine relationships that are developed through the surgical and recovery process is what Michelle finds most rewarding. She feels especially blessed to have the opportunity to work each day with such well-respected surgeons and staff that are at the top of their field.
	Maureen Marriott MedSpa Director As Director of the MedSpa, Maureen oversees all daily appointments and fosters a team spirit among the Aestheticians to help create a truly extraordinary spa. Her background in skincare and cosmetic sales allows Maureen to assist clients in choosing from a wide variety of medical skincare and makeup products. Maureen hopes to make every client’s spa experience a relaxing and memorable one.
	Kathy Hawks Medical Aesthetician Kathy is a Licensed Aesthetician in the medical spa field. She received her certification from Mitchell Community College in 2005 and is a member of the Aesthetics International Association. Kathy’s goal is to provide medical-grade skin care for our patients. She works closely with both Dr. Hunstad and Dr. Kortesis for pre and post-operative care. She is certified to offer a variety of treatments with the Candela Yag and V-Beam lasers and is skilled at providing an array of facials and professional peels. Every client has unique skin care needs, and Kathy is qualified to create the optimum treatment program for each of her patients.
	Ashley Helms Surgery/Patient Coordinator As The Hunstad Kortesis Center’s Surgery/Patient Coordinator for the last five years, Ashley assists patients with pre-operative care and administrative matters such as license credentialing and ensuring compliance with HIPPA. With a total of eight years of experience at the center, Ashley goes the extra mile to ensure a smooth and effortless surgical experience. Her favorite aspect of being a Surgery/Patient Coordinator is educating and guiding patients to feel good about the decisions they make. Ashley’s strong desire to help patients with any issues they may have not only helps to build confidence but aids in creating a positive patient experience.
	Jane Pavlish Patient Liaison Jane serves as the first point of contact as a Patient Liaison. She is responsible for scheduling, office administration, and creating an inviting reception area for cosmetic surgery and Medi-Spa patients. With her assistance, the front office runs smoothly and patients are reassured by her knowledge and warm personality. She enjoys her job and the team-oriented environment at the center which she feels provides patients with a “better than ever expected” experience.
	Alexis Riker Surgery/Patient Coordinator Alexis has been at The Hunstad Kortesis Center since 2009 and is one of our Surgery/Patient Coordinators. She assists patients during their consultation process and manages them through their entire surgical experience. She enjoys the personalized attention that the Hunstad Center provides each patient. “We always want our patients to feel that they are in good hands, and in a safe and nurturing environment.
	Deborah Carr-Ruiz RN, Recovery Specialist Deborah Carr-Ruiz RN is the Recovery Specialist at the Hunstad Kortesis Center. If you don't see me when you awaken during the day, you may see me come in at 6:00 and take over your more complicated case for an overnight recovery. I received my Associate Degree in Nursing from Purdue University in 1987, and I have traveled many pathways in nursing before arriving here at the Hunstad Kortesis Center 2 years ago. My calling in nursing has always been direct, hands-on patient care, and my role at the Hunstad Kortesis Center is no exception. Your comfort in my hands is my mission here, and I hope to meet you soon when you decide to have that procedure you have always wanted. You are safe in my hands, and that is my personal guarantee.
	Emily Holland O.R. Sterile Tech At our facility both gas & steam are utilized in the sterilization process. Emily is responsible for proper maintenance and sterilization of all surgical instruments and all other items used during surgical procedures. She is also in charge of sterilization equipment maintenance. Emily understands and embraces that this is an important responsibility. She is happy to be able to help make the surgeries go smoothly and aid in our patients having a fast, infection free recovery.
	Kelly Goss, RN Surgical Nurse Kelly currently serves as a clinical nurse for the Hunstad Kortesis Center with 5 years of emergency care experience and 2 years of post surgical care experience. Kelly brings knowledge of patient care in the hospital setting as well as the surgery center. Kelly feels the most rewarding part of her job is helping people achieve their goals and making their journey a smooth and safe one. 	Marianna Gibbons Aesthetician Marianna is an experienced aesthetician with a proven record of success. She was born in Bratislava, Slovakia where she graduated, with honors, from a four year intensive Skin Care Therapy training. In Marianna's continuing effort to stay on top of this always changing industry, she has obtained certification in Microdermabrasion technique, LED therapy, Chemical peels, Advanced facial treatment techniques. Today, Marianna successfully blends modern technology with a traditional European approach to skin care with results in a truly distinct experience.
	Nina Goretoy Surgical Technician I'm Nina Goretoy, one of the new members of The Hunstad Kortesis Plastic Surgery Team in Charlotte, NC. As a graduate from Virginia College with a Surgical Technologist degree, I've enjoyed learning and working side by side with some of the industries premier surgeons; Dr. Kortesis and Dr. Hunstad. Coming from the rocky mountain state of Idaho with my Russian family, I can tell you that Charlotte not only has great restaurants, it also has great surgeons. On my off time I enjoy hanging out with my friends and family, getting to know the "Queen City", and doing anything and everything outdoors! 	Christina Hunnicutt Surgical Registered Nurse Christina is a registered Nurse who works in Pre-op, Circulating, and Recovery Rooms throughout the Hunstad Kortesis Center. Aside from her nursing responsibilities, she also handles the ordering of garments, medication, and breast implants for the practice. Her experience in the medical field has been vast thus far in her early career working in Orthopedics, In-patient Surgery, Rehabilitation, and Pediatric care for the past five years. Christina is currently enrolled at Western Carolina University to finish up her Bachelors and pursue a Masters in Nurse Administration. Christina loves working for The Hunstad Kortesis Center because it is a very happy environment for the patients. People come to the Hunstad Kortesis Center with a goal in mind, and it is a pleasure for Christina to assist in any way, so long as they leave happy, healthy and with a smile on their face.
