This procedure is indicated for those patients who have slight
skin laxity of the upper abdomen. It is often used in
conjunction with the abdominoplasty to create an even more
dramatic result. The incision is hidden discreetly beneath the
braline, easily covered with your bra or bathing suit.
The desired
result and the amount of tissue to be removed are determined.
Markings are
made to correspond with the amount of tissue to be removed.

Endoscopic
abdominoplasty can achieve wonderful results for patients
who have excess fat and muscle laxity but no skin redundancy.
In a case where the skin is in good condition but there is a
slight excess of fat and laxity, endoscopic abdominoplasty can
achieve very nice results. This procedure consists of thorough
abdominal liposuction with a very strong muscle tightening that
is performed through inconspicuous incisions. The incisions are
placed inside of the umbilicus (belly button) and within the
pubic hair. This phase leaves virtually no visible scar and a
very thin, flattened, and tightened shape and appearance. This
procedure can usually be completed in approximately two hours.
The recovery is swifter than with a standard abdominoplasty and
relatively normal activity can be resumed usually within two
weeks.
Before
After
The
incisions are virtually invisible, located inside the
belly button and pubic hair line.
A Mini
Abdominoplasty is for those candidates with only
slight laxity of the skin and smaller amounts of excess
fat. A muscle tightening is usually, but not always
performed with this procedure. The incision for a mini
abdominoplasty is significantly shorter and the navel is
relocated with no need for creation of a new one.
This
patient is a 42 year old bodybuilder. She is 5'4 and
weighs 143 lbs. She had slight skin laxity secondary to
childbirth, but no need for liposuction or muscle
tightening.
