Braline Backlift
The bra line back lift is a procedure that
we developed in 2004 to treat laxity, redundant skin, back fat, and
bulges above and below the bra line. This procedure was developed
because of the patient request to eliminate redundant excess skin and
fat sides and upper back along the course of the bra line. From the
first time we performed the procedure results were so dramatic that
we've continued to encourage and promote this procedure. It was
submitted for publication in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery
which is the journal of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
It was published in 2009. It receives significant media attention
and was mentioned on Web M.D., MS NBC, Reuters, the daily news in
London, and was featured on television in Los Angeles.
Patients who have undergone other
procedures have commented that the results are the most dramatic and
best they've ever experienced with the bra-line back lift. The
complications of this procedure are few and it consisted of a very
unusual need for scar revision. No other major complications have been
noted. The procedure is performed under a brief general anesthesia and
recovery is prompt. You can shower the first day after surgery and wash
your hair and usually by a week or 10 days most normal activities. The
final incision is easily concealed beneath the bra or swimsuit. This
procedure delivers a contour it is smooth and even without bulges. The
tightening along the back area is impressive and dramatic. Because of
the excitement with this procedure that has been performed on many
patients coming to Charlotte from across the country.
Because of the excitement and dramatic
results with this procedure, Dr. HUNSTAD has lectured on this as an
invited speaker for the American Society of plastic surgeons annual
meeting, the annual Breast and Body Contouring Symposium, invited
Professor for the Columbia Society of Plastic Surgery, and the
International Consortium for Static Plastic Surgeons.
For those with laxity of the mid-back, the Backlift is an excellent
option. Developed by Dr. Hunstad, this procedure employs the removal of
excess skin to create a smooth contour to the entire back. The scar is
placed strategically to be hidden beneath your bra or bikini top.
