Cellulaze Laser Therapy
 
  Cellulaze is the latest laser technology for body contouring and the treatment of cellulite. This allows the laser to be placed superficially beneath the skin and the fiber lacing directly downward for any areas of fullness or pillowing that can occur with cellulite. Indentations or puckers from cellulite are treated by using the laser beam sideways, which releases the structures allowing a return of smoothness, eliminating dimples on the skin. Then, the laser is turned toward the under surface of the skin delivering a uniform laser beam of energy heating the skin, which provides for skin retraction and enhanced smoothness. The laser frequency is unique with this laser being 1440 nm. This 1440 laser is unique in the sense that it provides a significant improvement previously unavailable for the treatment of cellulite.



In early February 2012, the FDA released this device for general use by plastic surgeons and other aesthetic physicians. We have been involved with this device since its early inception. We were one of the five test centers providing data and information on the safety and efficacy of this device on which the FDA made their decision to certify this device. We cared for 14 patients in our study had 14 out of 14 very good if not excellent results. This procedure can be used as a standalone operation for the treatment of cellulite. This can be done under local anesthesia. This device can also be used in combination with liposuction performing not only liposuction but the specific treatment for cellulite.

The cellulite skin tightening effects are usually realized by three months following surgery. They continue to improve for the six months following surgery and appear to be maintained for at least 2 1/2 years following the treatment.

It's obvious to see why we are very excited about Celulaze, the 1440 laser. It is met with excellent patient approval and again can be offered as a standalone procedure performed under local anesthesia or in combination with liposuction.
