DESCRIPTION
VitaMedica’s Healthy Skin Formula is a nutritional supplement that provides
internal skin care by enhancing the body’s natural systems for repairing,
cleansing and healing.
Many topical treatments for the care of acne and inflammatory disorders of
the skin are available. While effective, these regimens contain products
that generate activity primarily on the outer layer of the skin. Although
the topical approach represents the foundation of good skin care, it also
makes sense to address what is going on internally. That’s because what you
put inside your body is just as important as what you apply externally.
Other acne treatments, including prescription medications such as
antibiotics and Accutane®, can have powerful activity along with significant
side effects. Natural medicines tend to be milder, safer and are far less
likely to cause negative reactions.
VitaMedica’s Healthy Skin Formula is designed to boost the effectiveness of
the topical products currently recommended by your skin care professional.
The result is a comprehensive, bi-directional approach to naturally support
proper skin functioning and a healthy-looking complexion.
BENEFITS
Nutrients to Promote Skin Health. The formula contains Vitamin A
(from Palmitate and Betatene®) which reduces sebum production and the
buildup of keratin in the follicle. The formulation also contains zinc,
selenium, and chromium. Each of these nutrients has a very important role
in skin health.
MSM for Antibacterial and Repair. The formula contains MSM a
natural form of organic sulfur, which is a natural antiseptic and necessary
for collagen synthesis. By keeping skin cells soft, MSM also allows skin to
detoxify. MSM enhances tissue pliability and encourages the repair of
damaged skin.
Nutrients to Support Inflammatory Control. Bromelain, an enzyme
extracted from pineapple, and selenium both have anti-inflammatory
properties.
Herbs to Cleanse & Detoxify. Burdock, dandelion, Oregon grape
and yellow dock are powerful herbs known for their potent cleansing
properties of the skin and blood.
Formulated in Easy-to-Swallow Capsules. Only two capsules are
required per day, making the supplement easy to take, especially for younger
patients who often have acne.
INDICATIONS
This product was designed for individuals with acne, psoriasis or eczema.
The product is intended to be used with other topical products and/or
procedures that a physician or skin care specialist recommends. This
product should be used as part of a total program to achieve a clearer
complexion for the patient.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Nutritional supplements have a very safe track record. However, certain
individuals should seek the advice of their doctor before beginning the
program particularly diabetics, pregnant or lactating women. HEALTHY SKIN
FORMULA contains Vitamin A. If you are presently taking Accutane® (isotretinoin)
for the treatment of acne, please refrain from taking HEALTHY SKIN FORMULA
until the end of the treatment cycle.
DIRECTIONS
Two capsules per day of Healthy Skin Formula are recommended. The capsules
may be taken together or in divided doses. The capsules can be taken in the
morning or in the evening. For optimal absorption, the supplements should
be taken with food.
